Noodles and Doodles

I wouldn't call it food poisoning but I guess I shouldn't eat kao soi every day. Sucks, because it's like the best chicken noodle soup I've had. Or maybe the food stall silverware is the culprit. I'll never know.

I just watered my gut and as I'm waiting for it to move as it wants I want to share my doodles.

I am no artist of the visual variety. On a rare occasion, I sketch. Then, I realize my skill level is that of a child. My most recent victims are some Thai women I met, three friends and two strangers.

Yeah, pretty terrible. Speaking of terrible, I endured a brief visit to Chiang Mai Sunday night market. It's pretty unbearable walking through such crowded streams of people. The children's art exhibition confirmed what I said about my art skills.

The Siriwan hostel is nice, with lovely garden. Unfortunately, this offers a breeding ground for mosquitoes. They burn through 168 mosquito coils in a week! Also not a fan of my room, where I can hear all movement from the upstairs floor, and space is limited in both horizontal (for storing my shit) and vertical (privacy and doorways) dimensions. That and the glasses incident, plus my gut activity, yielded negative dreams. It's a shame, yet hardly the worst possibility. I'm moving to another hostel as soon as my guts settle enough for me to shower comfortably. As I sit waiting, I wonder if two flushes was sufficient. I'll give it another ten.

How long should I stay in this city? I was thinking stick around for two Tuesdays, so I can jam with the North Gate jazz people twice. That's a long time, including the next two days, the Loi Krathong festival, and another weekend plus two days. I still plan to spend a day with elephants. There's also some nice mountains around. I've heard Pai village, three hours away, is a chill place but too far for a day trip. I thought since I'm up here, I should go to Laos. That'll take two days by land or over $100 by air. Decisions...

Lest I forget, I stopped by Nabe, a Japanese restaurant/bar with Thai music. Pretty dope!

Except the beer was way too cold. Like ice!
