Deadlines? Oops

Three weeks since my last update. I'd be sorry if I had followers. If I might send someone a link to this page, I must frantically update from my ever-expanding backlog of content.

In contrast to the start of my journey, things have quieted down a great deal. Fresh from my heart-melting experience in Luang Prabang, I returned to Bangkok. There, I met friends new and old and had another amazing stay at Kinnon Hostel in Silom. For me, the highlight from this stay was a Takeaway Show through the Silom neighborhood. We walked around playing a new song by Palmy, with Christopher on concert ukulele, Kostanjcia on soprano ukulele, and myself playing softly on the trumpet. The song is basically an open C, with sometimes a Dm or G, so it's nothing difficult to fuck around in improv. The hostel attracts some interesting characters. On this visit, I mostly stuck around them, staff and guests alike. Chris and I went to Insanity nightclub in Sukhumvit and later I went to Sugar, a hip hop nightclub nearby to meet a group from Kinnon. I also stopped by Brown Sugar on one evening to check out their big band. Beyond that, nothing adventurous.

After feeling like I'd stayed in Bangkok being lazy, I booked a flight to Krabi, down on the west coast side of the Malay peninsula. There, I chilled for a few days before taking a boat to Koh Lanta, a large island with many resorts. After a few days there, I reversed back to Krabi and back to Bangkok, where I am once again staying at Kinnon. I might never leave...

My current stay has so far included a Thai Dance Music Festival, a Christmas party, and numerous visits to a tiny Bangkok jazz bar.

That's basically the summary of the last three weeks. To compensate for lack of content, I'll expand on them individually over the next few posts. And maybe throw in some poignancy as fillers!
